Big thanks to all who said go back to basics with the boy, wich we have been doing very slowly. Hacking 3 times per week and also schooling in between about 20 mins at a time in school in walk trot and halt.

I have yet to try lunging again as had dressage trainer over the other day and also discussed with her and need side reins as prob not going to keep him out especially on left rein. Will get some this weekend.

He is taking his time to settle I feel into new yard, and not really bonded as yet but working on it.

Question is he really struggles in the outdoor arena - as the going is inconsistent, worse after all the rain as gets clumpy! (if you know what I mean) We are getting a new indoor school soona nd I just hope the going is better, as the existing indoor also is not great - better than outdoor though as less heavy but still gets 'tracky' as not harrowed enough for my liking!

So do I continue to do small schooling in field - straight lines in trot but cirlces in walk as again not 100% level, although he is much more forward going and can get some good upward transitions whereas is outdoor he really struggles. Or do I now persevere into the indoor!!!

thanks
Tia
