My horse has recently had blood tests taken which shows slightly high muscle enzymes - could anyone tell me what this means?

I remember him having bloods taken when I first brought him three years ago and the results were slightly high then??

It can also be a sign of muscle damage or bruising

try googleing EPSM. this condition can result in high muscle enzymes.

also a search on new rider forum may be worthwhile.

Chronicles of the horse forum also has some good info on this

it's controllable by simple diet changes, so worth trying.

it usually indicates some kind of muscle damage where damaged muscle cells have leaked and their contents, or at least the enzymes, are picked up in a lood test
