Can anyone help?
My 5 year old Irish warm blood cam in from the field 2 weeks ago with his stiffle looking strange. He wasnt obviously lame but looked a bit awkward if turned in small cicles. The next day he came in with what looks like a muscle spasim from his stiffle verticaly along side his flank. I have had a osteopath out to see him who thinks he may have twisted or done something to his Patella but believes this is back in place and that the muscles around the area have gone into a spasim. He recomended heat treatment and gentle massage. I have been doing this for about 7 days and it doesnt seem to be making much difference. The vet came to see him who has never seen this before and wants to take him in for xrays and scans. Obviously I will take the vets advice but because my horse isnt lame or showing any signs of pain in the area I feel the vets are just doing this as they dont know what else to say!
