Muscle Stitched

Hello,

I wonder if anyone has ever had experience of a horse having a muscle stitched following a kick/injury, and if so what was the outcome?

Have had racehorses requiring muscles stitched back together (through deep wounds) all with excellent result. Last one won his next race 5 weeks later.

Eta: have you had any with leg wounds? Mine is On the inside of hock area.

I knew a horse years ago that had torn all the belly muscles open from the elbow to the stifle ,I have never seen a wound so big ,the vet let me watch while he stitched her together ,the only problem she had was that it seemed itchy when it was healing ,once her stitches were out she was fine ,she was a roan so it did not even appear to leave a
scar . Another horse cut right across his chest muscle from one side to the other , by the time the vet arrived looking for the injured horse his owner a doctor had stitched him and told the vet to give him a tet booster as she wanted to go home, he healed and had no further problems .
How horses heal never cease to amaze me.
