My daughters pony was brought in on Saturday past, for a groom he was chilled out and calm, but we then noticed these 'tremors' all over his body, mostly in his neck, but also over his sides and rump! A bit worried we called our vet who by the time he arrived all the twitching had settled, however vet said heart rate up a bit (40) and he thought his gut sounds were a bit over active. He gave him painkillers and said mild colic, we starved him for the day and gave half rations at night. He was totally fine.
Today same thing, he was in for the farrier, totally chilled out, leg cocked etc and he started these tremors again. I kept him in a short while until it settled, turned him out and popped up to check on him a few hours later and he's absolutely fine...very confused as to what's causing it....
Anyone heard or seen anything like this before? I'm going to chat to vet tomorrow to see what he thinks but not convinced it was colic on Saturday ???
