my 14.2 cob used to be a driving horse before i got her i havent had her long about 5 months in that time shes been out hacking a bit but i decided to turn her away for a rest over winter shes at a resonable weight if not a little fat whats the best way to get her muscle tone up on her hindquarters when i bring her back to work she has a lot up front from the driving shes a complete safe plod too

Walk work up hills i'm afraid! It isn't the most interesting riding, but it is the best way to muscle up the back half - especially good if just coming back into work. Good luck

ditto, walk up hills ALOT! raised poles and plenty of work on circles and with poles, a good exercise is- put 4 poles on a 20m circle, making out each quarter mark (if that makes sense?) walk round first, and then as she gets better and fitter progress to trot and canter. also lots and lots of transitions, working well and forward. also when out hacking maybe try leg yielding across each side of the path, it gets them to stretch and work their legs better, and also helps build muscle. good luck and update us!!
