Muscle wastage.

My friends shire x cob has lost some weight recently. Looks better for it! 20 year old. It’s become. Lear she has muscle wastage on her right hind leg. No lameness issues we can see. Appreciate any thoughts on this? Thanks.

I would ask a physio tbh.

Had a horse with a similar thing, but I had noticed an intermittent lameness for a while before hand. Every time I got the vet out, he’d go sound. Gave him some time off and it resolved on its own.. I imagine a tweak from being a turnip in the field. The physio noted the muscle wastage though, and it was the only thing which convinced me I hadn’t been seeing things lol.
