After a lot of very careful thought I have decided I am not going to buy her, in fact for the next six months at least (and then only if I fall head over heels!) I am not going to look to buy another horse at all. Instead I am going to spend the money I would have spent on stabling in riding at lots of different yards, try out some different instructors, try lessons in dressage, jumping, sidesaddle, book some rides out on the beach and in the forest and treat myself to some nice weekends away to try riding in different locations and ride lots of different horses.

I need to get the love and the exhilaration back:-))

Vardi is doing so well in the UK and having ridden him last time I was over I know he is my horse so my aim is to become the best rider I can so that we can get back together in a true partnership on my return to the UK in 2 years.....he is only six we have time:-)

Having made the decision I feel very calm and happy and looking forward to the future......It is I think the right thing to do.

Glad you have made the right decision for you at this time. I have to decide tomorrow if I'm going to give my boy away and retire him. I've only owned him since January, he was my perfect horse. He has been diagnosed with Ringbone. He's had injections which have not worked. So after more X rays tomorrow I'm going to make my decision given on what the vet says. I have the offer that my YO will keep him in retirement as they have Shetlands and he can live out with them. Or I keep him myself as a pet basically. He's only 11. And I won't be having another. End of an ara and very sad.

So sorry to hear this, mine was diagnosed with severe side bone 4 months ago and I had to make the decision to send him back to the UK now or risk him being too lame to travel in 2 years time. Luckily he is doing well and standing up well to light work.

I hope your vet can give you some hope for the future. Big hug x
