Sinc everyone is panicing about winter, I thought a thread with winter essentials would be great. But rather than the normal random recommendations (like the sticky above), can we each chose a winter essential and chose a budget, a mid range and a luxury version.

I'll start with leg wraps for cold horsey legs
bargain - Equilibrium equichaps - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Equilibrium-E...951177&cguid=d3d9ac3e12a0a0e20582b962fe57d9c6

Mid range - Thermatex cordura leg wraps - http://www.thermatex.co.uk/thermatex-quilted-cordura-leg-wraps-set-of-4-737-0.html

Luxury - Veredus magnitic stable boots -http://www.knightsbridgeequestrian.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=98

We are going to get one of them 4-wheeled barrows to pull, rather than try to shove the wheelbarrow full of hay etc. through the mud! Never got round to it last year, WILL get one this year!

Pig oil and sulphur mix. Couldn't do the winter without it!

I suppose the luxury is buying it pre mixed (about £17 a litre off ebay). The budget is mixing it yourself. But when I tried to buy sulphur from various local chemists they were so funny about it I gave up.

The bonus? No Mud Fever. All winter. Priceless. (As the advert says!)

My must buy is a wheelie bin, a wallpaper steamer & a timer for the plug socket. I want to build a hay steamer so we don't have to mess about soaking hay & can have nicely steamed hay ready for us when we arrive at the yard in a morning. ;)
