I decided that as Mustard has been so settled and happy in his work, it was about time he went and learnt what his new life is about.
He last raced in the summer and has since been turned away before being bougt back into work approaching 2 months ago.
I've done 3 jumping sessions with him- the last one being yesterday when I thought it may be an idea to jump some fillers/planks before today!!

Anyway, picked a nice quiet venue and went for the clear round. He was an angel to tack up, walked in the indoor school no fuss (1st time indoors) and warmed up like a little pro.
Went in and started off in trot but he picked up caner and away we were- straight over evrything including his first double. Finished with a clear round (and a rosette

)
Went straight round again and he got a bit cocky this time so had a rail.

Was so, so impressed by his attitude- he's not spooky, he loves to jump and once he has fully sussed what to do when he gets in close I think he's going to have a nice jump. It was only 2ft nothing but it's a start!!

Looks like it!!

If he doesnt make it as an eventer he'll make someone a super RC horse as he's SO easy to do and just an utter sweetheart.

Fab news. But don't you miss the 'excitement' Moon and Boss provide?!

I came home and hacked Baggage- she provided plenty of excitement for one day!!

I do indeed!
Moon had an 'episode' there's this little dip which most horses sedately walk down into and then back up the other side. The one time I've taken her through it before she napped , I growled and she launched over it. Today, she napped, I growled, she continued to nap for a considerable period of time and eventually my growls turned so nasty she did go but she launched over it again- most bizarre!!

Bless little Mustard, it sounds like you found a right little star there Boss. Can't wait to hear your next report now
