I've had my Musto snug blouson for a few years and after it got wet the other day and some delightful water marks dried into it , I thought I'd wash it.

It's now been washed three times and each time it dries from top to bottom as you'd expect, however it gets near the bottom and drys with a water mark, a tide mark essentially and the jacket is dry .

I'm thinking its not drying fast enough but short of tumble drying (which its care label says no to) there's not much I can do apart from maybe take it to hotter country!

It does look better than before it was washed so that's a plus but I just want it to look normal. It annoyed me enough buying a 100 quid jacket that wasn't waterproof , let alone one that needs expert drying !

Have googled the problem and found nothing. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not had this problem with any I've had but can understand how annoying it is for you.

Firstly I don't think the Snugs Snugsare sold as waterproof, just water resistant. I always wash mine in a specialist wash to preserve the proofing like Nikwax then then after every second or third wash also use a reproofer.

Secondly it sounds like it may be coming out of the machine fairly wet to dry the way you're describing so maybe you could try a faster spin cycle so it comes out drier to start with then dry it flat so it dries more evenly. I don't think a gentle heat in the tumble drier for a short time would harm it either. Also be careful that you're not using too much detergent in case it's the residue that's causing the marks as normal water from the rinse cycle shouldn't do that.

Its gone in again now to re wet and ive not put much detergent in and its on the fastest spin. Also have set up the clothes horse outside for drying it more spread out, rather than hanging it on a hanger. Fingers crossed the sun remains and ill let you know the results later :-)!

I wash mine all the time & never have a problem. I spin it after washing as the material the cuffs & hem are made out of hold water & it then drips everywhere. I then just hang it up to dry. Perhaps the spinning makes a differance?

Thanks for the replies. Its currently doing well in the sun. Yeah i think an extra spin would stop the dripping and i probably shouldnt be using fabric conditioner - just love the smell!! I think the sun helps, as well as the way its draped over the clothes horse . Will give the extra spin and no fabric conditioner a go next time it needs a wash as i doubt by that time i will have the luxury of a hot day for outside drying. I think part of the trouble may be that its a lightish colour so is inclined to water marks.
