a new horse here at livery has to wear a muzzle. She is a 14'1 hairy cob. Her muzzle is the aerborn basket type. It is fitted snug but the little madam some how manages to pull it backwards over her nose so it just dangles round her neck. I was told by the owner that she hasn't worn one before but I can tell she has as she knows exactly how to pull it off. So how do I keep this on. Was thinking of putting on a brow band with it then a tie front of the muzzle to the brow band as that would stop her pulling it backwards. She has to wear a muzzle as she will be laminitis prone simply due to her type.

My ponies can get theirs off, although I don't think the same way, unless they're fitted really snugly with a headcollar over the top and the headpiece of the headcollar passed through the muzzle headpiece.

Might be worth a try.
