So this is a photo from the old yard. On the few occasions the horses could be turned out, they went in here. My youngster escaped through the fencing a couple of times and my older girl went lame because she would stand in that mud after eating her haynet (she had surgery on her fetlocks last year) So my two ended up being turned out an hour each morning in the carpark with feed
They both travelled really well to the new yard Neither of them like the trailer much, but they really fed off each other, could see them nuzzling each other like "if he/she is here its ok"
At the new yard, they arent yet out fully because the weather is sooo bad, but its better then where they were, They have a good couple of hours a day at the moment.
Jimmy took a little while to settle in, threw himself over his stable door played with things he shouldnt, barged out the stable several times. (Everytime I tried to put him in it would take 4-6 attempts ) Now I use a whip for my safety, and so that I can calmly teach him to stay in when I ask, he has settled a lot more today (Roo lived at the yard a year and a half when I bought her so its only Jimmy that doesnt know where he is
A video of their first turnout in about 4 weeks. They enjoyed it! Kept doing this then eating for a minute and setting off again
Mute it, the wind is very loud!
One thing I have noticed, Wherever Roo is, Jimmy is never far away. He seems to take a lot of confidence from her, and she is like a mum to him
