Well i was a little worried about the day as the wind had really picked up and i though shadow was going to be really flighty but he was sooooo relaxed. We did the P12 and N26. He scored 67.89% in the prelim (5th place) and 60.38% in the Novice so picked up another point- he was sooo good it was such a great day. The juges main comment was that he was a little unbalanced in some of the small circle work/loops but gave him a 7 for paces which i was really chuffed about. It didnt help that one of the people interested in him had come to watch so i was extra nervous. The warm up was bone dry which was great, but the only negative thing about the day was the poor turnout- About 4 or 5 competitiors failed to show without withdrawing which was very naughty.
Shadow even loaded himself into the trailer at the end of the day (he decided it was time to go home lol)
I met some other competitors and had a chat about BD as im still quite new to it and they were lovely and gave me some great tips. The best thing abut the day was that there wasnt a single mention from the judge about tenseness so i think ive cracked it. Woo!
It was a shame to see one or two slightly bridle lame horses though- do judges mark down for this?
Anyway sorry for the self indulgent post but i had no one else to tell!
