My old lodger (many years ago) wrote me this poem and to this day I still have it on the original bit of paper, keep meaning to write it up properly...and seeing as some peeps on here are saying goodbye to their best friends thought it quite fitting to share....

My Best Friend

I see you every morning
You always come to me
and put me out with all my friends
so that I can run free

You make sure I have water
you give my food and hay
I always have a nice clean bed
when I come in each day

You know when I feel poorly
you know when I feel down
and I can always count on you
to always be around

Now's my chance to let you know
I'll be here 'till the end
and to tell you you're not just my mum
but also my best friend.

and at the bottom it said:

To Mummy, lots of love Merlin

and still to this day, even more fitting really that it makes me smile within as this is how we were together, totally the bestest of friends.

Just thought I would share this really as thought it was lovely, means loads to me anyway.
