I have 3 dogs, Spike 8.5 yesr old boxer dog, castrated. Lily 1 year old spayed rescue staffie and Hera 4 year old black lab in season.
This morning Hera came into the kitchen very waggy and happy but kept indicating to us to go in the garden.
Went outside Spike standing there looking quite pleased with himself but with blood pouring from his penis.
Grabbed a towel, told daughter to get dressed and shot off to vets in nearest town, 9 miles away.
Seems Spike had sh*gged Hera and somehow nicked the end of his penis which was having a minor pumped arterial bleed!
Got shown straight through to the small back room of our very friendly vets. Daughter dispatched to Tesco next door to buy a bag of ice.
Spent next 3/4 hour sat on floor trying to stem the bleeding, vets floor, my kitchen floor and patio all looked as though a massacre had taken place.
Eventually brought him home again and attempt to keep him quiet and away from the bitch. He has bled twice more this afternoon, going to have to throw out rug in family room and doormat in utility.
Luckily he is a very laid back easy dog to deal with, and he feels pleased with himself anyway.
Bloody dogs, why do we have them - we are trying to sell our house and keep it tidy - no chance when there are dogs around.
