For those of you who are keeping up with the tale of the chestnut boy... our little rollercoaster ride appears to be on the up at last

After bringing him over from goresbridge in september and breaking him during the autumn, we started to run into problems... he is very nervy and has obviously had a bad time in the past, and needs a lot of time, patience and consistent work - he unfortunately had a couple of weeks off work at the end of last year and we're now back at square one, re-breaking him again... a couple of weeks ago (when I first posted about the problems) he was incredibly difficult to handle at all, so he's definately improving

I've spent time fussing him and just being with him in the yard, getting him used to somebody being in his stable with him etc. without him panicking and shooting to the back, or twirling around and knocking me flying... he's coming along nicely and is all soppy and calm now, just enjoying being fussed... my OH has been lunging him (see earlier post) and today the boys went for a wander round the yards etc. in the sunshine

they ended up in the sandschool where they played with an orange box...

Believe me, from twirling, rearing and sitting down (don't ask!!) it's a great improvement!! (And yes, I know the twit ought to be wearing a hat, I did say, a million times, that it really was a better idea... but boys just don't tend to listen... bloody things)

Thank you for looking!! It's nice to be able to give a positive update on him for once!!

He looks to be in excellent condition (thats the horse btw!) Well done - its so much more satisfying when you have had to put in that extra bit of work.
