:( lunged him the other day and he looked stiff behind. Nothing to obvious but I gave him some time off to see if he came right.

Got him out yesterday and he's hobbling. Looks like his back right!

There's no swelling or heat but we suspect it's around the hock area and have the vet coming today.

I think it's going to be box rest :( which will be difficult as he gets rather stressed and hard to handle without turnout and when he's out his routine.

Shall see what the vet says shortly.

Feeling pretty guilty that I left him a few days but he weren't anywhere near this bad and I thought some time off would help. Poor boy!

Hi feel your pain, we are going through the same thing with my daughter's pony. Again, there is no heat, swelling just cronic lameness in off side hind, the vet has no idea and has put the mare on box rest for two weeks and bute. The blood enzymes are fine so there is no tying up or muscle damage although the Physio said it was a pulled/very tight hamstring.

Update - vet has come to see him. He's had a foreign body go through his hoof wall :(

Dunno if its a stone or what cos we couldn't find it.

So he's on bute and box rest for a week.

He's already been a tear away! He decided to throw his bed everywhere then stand in his feed bucket and put a big hole through it... Haha.

Cheers for the support folks.

well that is fairly good news, certainly much better than a degenerative type of thing :D

Just hoping for you that the object has already come out!!
