My car just died

Why when things are difficult enough do cars always decide to break!

Drove my car to archery tonight and almost there (Less than a minute away) the temperature shot up. Nursed it to the venue and opened the bonnet to find smoke billowing out of the head gasket

Let it cool down and topped the oil up then slowly drove it home only for it to die at the bottom of the drive

What a nightmare when hubby is away for another week yet.

Isn't it just a pain? I am pretty sure it is the head gasket that has gone so fairly major and hubby is away until next Thursday

So looks like I'll be getting a bit fitter this week!

Well your better than me - I wouldn't know what a head gasket was if it jumped up and smacked me in the face!!

but I do know it will cost a lot to put right....grrr!

My dad was a mechanic so I spent hours holding spanners for him etc

Also have three sons who all just looked at it and said 'headgaskets gone'.

I think due to the age of the car it is not viable to even think of mending it

Isn't a jeep cherokee by any chance ?
