I have always been so careful with open upstairs windows but would you believe it - Yesterday early evening I had opened the bedroom window to air the room out (I am getting over flu). Iusually open both ends just in case but only did one and I thought I had shut the door.

Sat downstairs with OH in me jammies and Dressing gown and didnt reacted when the infant terrible went trundling up the stairs.

There was a funny noise and I said 'Oh my god the cat has fallen out of the window'. OH said no that was just someone getting out of a car.

I searched the house no cat. Went out the front beneath the upstairs window (Silk Fuchsia Pink Jammies and lemon Ribena stained Dressing gown very fetching) no cat to be seen. Went to back of the house expecting to fins a mangled moggy dragging her broken body across the lwan and what do I find.

She is dancing chasing bugs and skipping singing and chirruping to us something that vaguely sounds like 'I fell out of the Window!!' and she ran up to me tagged me with a paw and skipped off again.

OH track record very poor.
Car alarm -
Me - someones breaking into my car -
him -no thats not your alarm -
Result punched out lock.

Previous cat
Me - I heard fighting is the cat alright
Him - shes fine something was chasing her
Result - 3 stitches and an overnight stay at vets.

LOL I've had my cat 5 years now and he still seizes every possible oppurtunity to attempt a flying leap out of the first floor window, the idiot

Poor cat! And bad owner! LOL

In our last house we went out for the day and came back to find my terrier in the bck garden; he'd jumped out of the bedroom window!

My vet used to be my next door neighbour and her cat had kittens and she shut mum and kittens in the front bedroom and left the window open for mum to be able to hop out and onto the porch roof when she wanted a break - I don't think she realised how quickly the kittens were growing until one day they started following mum out of the window- by the time she came home I had mum and all 6 kittens safely tucked up in a box in my lounge having found them one by one mewing helplessly in the front garden - life one
well and truely used up!

my young cat did this not so long ago, scared the life out of me, he was fine, thank god
then my elderly cat was lurking around the window this weekend, he is 17 and a bit of a plonker sometimes, so i had to go close the windows before we had cat jumping out of window take 2!
i think this would not have been such a success as cat number 1 turned out to be!
they like to scare us i think, little devils

Your lucky! One of my cats doesn't see very well (something we weren't aware of at the time) but she went onto the roof of our house, slipped off the roof, fractured and dislocated her pelvis, and spent 2 and a half months in a cage! She's ok now - but unfortunately she is virtually a house cat because she is mostly blind.

Glad you and yours escaped without the drama!

My sibling daemon threw a cat out of a fourth floor flat window, onto the concrete street below.

That is soo not funny.

Well, when I say 'threw'...the cat wriggled its way through wire mesh netting that sibling had erected precisely to prevent it from attempted basejumping.
And when I say concrete street...it was...pavement and road below...but the cat was absolutely fine. Still stupid, but fine
