just spoke to vet at intensive care unit of hospital, said horsey is looking very bright and is being fed nuts every 4 hours and is pigging whatever they give him including ad lib hay (dont think he will want to come home). he still has someone with him most of the time but they are trying to get drip off so he can regulate his fluids on his own. He still has a little diarrhoea but has had all sorts of fabulous medicine today including bio sponges and other things to mop up the toxins and it seems to have worked!

and the vet actually said theres nothing to worry about tonight, yipeeee a night of sleep at last!

so thanks for best wishes, they are working so far... come on my gorgeous boy keep fighting!

heres some pics ranging from when i got him to now, just having a minute appreciating what a special boy he is...

the day i tried him

So so glad he is on the mend. It is so worrying when they are ill. My old boy was very ill one Christmas and I lost a stone in a week. Great for my figure not so good in any other way. He pulled through and I'm sure your boy will as well. Will keep everything crossed for him and hopefully he will be back home with his Mum soon.

Bio-sponge is fab stuff, Jim had one dose of it when he had diarrhoea after surgery & it really helped a lot.

I'm slightly worried that Jim won't want to come home either, I swear he's coming home fatter than he went in! He's not going to be amused when he realises the in hand grazing at home isn't anywhere near as good as it is there.

He looks like a lovely boy. Lets hope he keeps fighting & they can sort out some different meds for his lameness.

thankyou. I know what you mean about the treatment they get - our horseys will come back well and we will need a stint in there to recover!

Haven't posted before, but have been watching your updates. Really pleased that he is picking up, and keeping fingers crossed that his recovery continues!

Really happy for you and your handsome lad that he is starting to feel better. It is only after they turn the corner that you realise just how exhausted you are, before then you are in autopilot mode. Treat yourself to a nice takeaway and bottle of wine and have a relax!

Good advice, but go careful with the wine kombikids! One glass had me fast asleep on the sofa, my OH had to wake me up to get me to bed
