Hey guys

So as you might know my ponio is currently under the weather and I doubt I'll be able to ride him until end of Feb (if his recovery keeps going the way it is currently). However the show must go on, luckily I've been offered another horse to take to shows (actually getting paid for it:cool:). He's a black Hanoverian gelding, he's 17hh and 11 years old. He is the sweetest horse, no vices and an angel to ride. He does have a slight roach (so he wont be doing ANY showing) but it doesn't bother him or the dressage judges

Here are some photos of me riding him:

I've always ridden and showed this boy for his owner (showed him Novice level last year) but the owner has never given my permission to aim for the stars with him. I'm entering him in Team Selections (riding Elementary classes) since I can't take Goldie (it's in the beginning of Feb), so even though I'm riding a class lower than I'm use to, he's competing a level higher than he is use to. So what I want to know is what do you guys think of him? Will he be able to fill my golden boy's shoes?

My currently injured baby and I doing a half pass (taken at last year's team selections):

What do you guys think? Will he be able to fill Goldie's shoes and fare well in Juniors Elementary?

Yes, good luck indeed! He is gorgeous and you guys should have a great time as well as do well.

Hats off to owner too. She is paying you to do a job. Most owners would say, well aren't you the lucky one of course I'm not paying you. Owner is benefiting too! Class woman.

Good luck to all of you!

Thanx you guys!

The owner was really desperate to get him into shows as she herself doesn't have the time to compete him (3 kids and a job), I ride him twice a week (Monday and Saturday) and she rides him 4 times a week. I'm lucky to get paid to have an opportunity like this :p, it's not much but it covers travelling costs and leaves me with a little bit for my pocket. She's also paying for all our show entries (and any other show related costs) - which helps

Hoping he'll do well!

He's lovely, I do like a black horse.

South Africa looks amazing, so green and warm! I want to come!

Thanx DressageLove :)! I like the black ones too :p! SA is lovely to live in (despite what most foreigners think :D). Wish it was as green here as it is there in the UK. Unfortunately our indigenous grass is yellow, so we have to plant green grass if we want it
