4 weeks ago one of the other horses on my yard was being clipped. I thought it was a great opportunity to tie the green baby nearby so she could hear/see it and she was NOT happy
I knew I'd be needing to clip her at some point soon so had to get my thinking cap on...
So for the last 4 weeks I've been stealing my OHs head shavers out his bathroom drawer and encorporated 'pretend clipping' in to my daily grooming routine
It took 3 days for her to accept me standing near her with them on and I've gradually built it up to having them switched on and rubbed all over her. (have to wipe all the horse grease/scurf off with baby wipes each time so OH didn't notice!!)
Well today she had a little chaser clip and not only did she stand PERFECTLY still, she was enjoying it do much she dozed off!
Head shavers now safely back in bathroom drawer, OH none the wiser
