Well we did it! I took my daughter and the little pony she rides along to a local show at the weekend. We did the lead rein class (5th out of 5 LOL!) and I took the pony in to the in-hand M&M (she's part-bred Welsh) and we were 4th out of 8.

I was as nervous as hell as I haven't shown a pony in about 20 years and have never done a lead rein class before!! My daughter has been practising her salute lots!! I think she "rode" the pony more than the other riders in the class, whoops!;) But, she enjoyed her day out and we are already planning our next outing!! She had a lesson the next day and was pleased as punch to show her instructor her rosettes and then try some "dressage"!!

The day went well until I realised I'd left the girth at home :eek: Luckily the show was 5 mins from home so hubby unhitched the trailer and whizzed off to get it! Phew!! The pony was a superstar, though I think really she wanted to eat the lovely lush grass rather than do much else!!

Here are some pics that my hubby took and then a link to the club's website where there is a nice pic!

Lovely photo's and well done to you and your daughter! Completely beside the point but I was at the same show! It's a small world lol :)

Thanks! Yes she did enjoy herself, and tired herself out too!!

I don't think we will delve too deeply into the show world but it is great for a youngster (human or equine) to do it as an opportunity to get out and about!!

My daughter is currently have a fortnightly lesson on the little pony, plus riding her 2 or 3 times a week. We may be starting Pony Club soon! yikes!
