Since the farrier came on Thursday, Ebby has been sick every day. Iam not sure if she's picking up anything else but she is in and out all the time and clearly not comfy. I had to put her out last night at 2.30 am, out again at 7.30 am and has been out most of the day. She has a small dinner but was very sick when she visited my mum's earlier while I went visiting relatives.
I know she picks up a bits of old hoof, but its not normally this bad! Has anyone got any ideas? I feel sick dog / poss a mess may be waiting for me in the morning if I don't hear her whine tonight!! NICE!

I'd pop her to the vets early next week, or even give the vet on call a ring, that's a few too many days of being sick for me, might she have gorged herself and might have a blockage or something?

Umm, hadn't thought of a blockage.... can't think how a chewed up bit of hoof can do that, but the farrier visit is the only link I can think of. She has poo'ed and is a bit smelly with it. She isn't off her food, but looks guilty - more so than normal! The whippet look can do that anyway, but it does seem different to me. I've got a quiet day anyway tomorrow, so will keep a close eye on her - like CCTV Ebby style... she will lead me to her rumaging place if there is one, she can't do the disapearing act very well!!

She might not have chewed it, just gulped it down, therein lies the problem - I'm just surmising, that 'look', bit sheepish, weaving back and forth, head down, is a sick doggy look, a bit like us, they don't really enjoy puking. Like I say, I would give the vet a ring just for a bit of peace of mind.

Well, she went to bed at midnight, survived clean til 7.30am and was reluctant to go out (windy and slightly chilly for a whippet don't you know!) 10 mins later she was BEGGING to come in, went back to bed, 45 mins later she was whining and desperate to go back out.. commence grass eating and being sick again. I picked it up before she could re-eat it and aside from grass and last nights chomped bonio nothing unsual that I could tell. She ate a bit more grass then wanted to play with her squeaky toy. Ummm, she isn't ill as such but still being sick....
Ideas???

I think i would nip her down to the vets tomorrow if she hasn't improved. It's been going for a few days now so if anything had upset her system it should have cleared up by now. BTW my dog used to eat hoof clippings, i think its good for them, unless of course she's ate too many. Hope she picks up soon

Update...
I now have a bouncing healthy dog who hasn't been sick for 36 hours. She is doing all the right things! Phewww
Anyway, thanks for your ideas, I was on the verge of calling the vet.... I was getting worried.
