My GSD is 2 years old and since January has had 3 'funny turns' so today I took him to the vet who diagnosed epilepsy. He said GSD's are the highest on the list for having epilepsy.
The upshot is that he will be on twice daily medication now for the rest of his life!
We have to start on a very low dose for a month and then take him back to the vet to do blood tests etc. Hopefully the lowest level will control the seizures but as he gets older the dose may have to increase.
The vet told me that for the first week he will be a bit dopey from the drugs but should be his usual self after that but minus the seizures.
Poor boy.
