...and I'm not sure what to do about it.
We've got a lovely enclosed field near us, but for the past couple of months the council have borrowed a few cattle to keep the grass in check. They've now moved on and it's a perfect place to let him off for a run...but he now stinks of cow. It's got a stream going down one side and being a Newf he's straight in there, but the bank was a favourite cow chillaxing space as well and Eli doesn't watch where he puts his feet.
Wet dog smell I was ready for and isn't too bad. But downstairs now smells of a combination of wet dog, cow and the occasional dead animal he finds to roll in. The obvious solution is to bath him, but this would have to be outside with the hose (60kg of Newf is not getting in my bathtub!) and it'll take him about 3 days to dry. Plus at the moment his coat looks fab, and is workings beautifully so when he does go swimming he doesn't end up soaked through and I don't want to strip all the oil out with shampoo and ruin it. Plus chances are in a couple of days the smell will be back.
Has anyone tried one of the dog deodorisers and had any success with it?
