Well......
Magic was fabulous. she was poked and prodded and had lights shone in her eyes and jabbed with a pointy thing to steal some blood. She was Soooooooooo well behaved!!
She was trotted up and had legs examined and that is when the vets discovered a bony lump on the outside of her right hock...bad times
She suggested X rays and my most fabulous OH ( who is totally fabulous!!) said do them...so...bless an 8 month old foal having 5 x rays on this hock and she was amazing! Ive seen grown horses throw themselves on the floor for less!!
Well we werent sure what to think as we couldnt do anything til we got the results of the xrays.....the owner was very good about it. We left the yard for home and told the owner we would ring her as soon as we know with our answer if we would be buying her etc.....
Twas the longest hour of my life!!! Vet rang and opened with 'Its good news' OMG I could have cried!!! pmsl!
She was kicked when she was very small by another mare but was never lame and to be fair until its pointed out to you its easily missed (especially in a wooly winter coat) well the xrays showed it is fused, is not going to move, isnt on or near any soft tissue or joints so the vet was happy to
PASS HER!!!!
So im relieved that its nothing to worry about and glad the Vet picked up on it......Phew!!!! now im off to clean out her stable and pick up some feed etc
