My first attempt at a homemade browband!

I had a spare browband left from Loki's bridle, it was too small for his big head so I had to buy a full one.

The cob sized one will fit my mum's mare though so after reading the ribbon browband thread I thought I'd give it a go :D

So here it is, i'm really chuffed with it especially since it took me about 20mins total to do ha ha! :D P.s the colours were my mum's choice ;)

I'm going to do another one for my boy now... I've got the bug! :D Hopefully it'll turn out a bit better, I might even really push the boat out and make rossettes to go with it ;)

Hee hee thanks :D It was Bijoubabe and Nah that got me started, they are to blame for the increase in ribbon sales and hot glue gun related injuries ;)

I'm going to try a diamond one in blue, gold and black as that's the colours that my embroidered saddle cloth are - it's the only matchy matchy I can get away with on a feathered cob ;)

The best bit is I made a mistake with the glue but it just peels off the leather when it sets if you pick at it a bit so it's pretty idiot proof - which tbh it needs to be with me ha ha! :D
 
Hope everyone who has a go comes back to post the pics of theirs too! :D

Will have to take one tomorrow of Pippa modeling it ;)
 
I'm on my phone so cant quote but thatsounds lovely. Woo matchy matchy :D I used to have a blue and gold hat silk when I was little. Royal ;)

Yeah you can do any colours you like! :D The checks are actually fairly simple too :)

I looked on youtube, my check tutorial was this one:

For a 3/4" Browband I used 2x 62cm lengths of 10mm blue ribbon (9mm would have fit slightly better I think) and one 144cm length of 10mm pink ribbon.

The blue ones I used along the length of the browband and the pink I used to wrap and weave it :)

Ooh that's fantastic! Very pretty! :D Where did you get your sparkly bits from and how much did they cost?
 
Everything from ebay, its my best friend, including the slightly pant glue gun too, hence the glue all over my jeans, sofa and floor, oops !

Ha ha! Ooops! :D My mum made me do hers in the kitchen on a newspaper so no fun times getting it everywhere for me ;)
