Well took Blue to Stilebridge on Sunday for the Prelim 7, spent ages cleaning him Holly (who E was taking) and B and B's wife's horses! Who between the 4 of them unfortunately have 15 white legs!

The others left early to do the walk trot class and i met them there in time for the Prelim 7.

Got on Blue to warm him up and he just seemed to want to canter everywhere

i guess thats because when he goes out he goes out jumping and of course when jumping he is in canter!

Finally got a little bit of nice trot from him just before my test.

Took him in and lucky for me i could remember the test because as i started i realised i had no one shouting it for me! Which was a little disconcerting!

He rushed his trot and refused to come very round and connected for me, canter work was good, though we managed to break into canter a little before we were supposed to!

Finished with a wonky halt (got a 5 for that!

)

We got 127 and 63.5% is that good?

Was quite pleased with it for his first time, came 1% behind B on his fancy dressage horse who's been to dressage shows before!

And about 9th out of the 17/18 in the class!

E on Holly got 53% and E's never done a show before and Holly's never done dressage before so she was quite happy with that too!

My OH was crap and didn't get out of bed in time to get down and take photos so i have one or two of me and Blue just standing looking smart and none of my test.

Is it not a bad score? I don't really know whats good and what's not!?

Was pleased with him though... tempted to go to one on 1 March and one on 16 March and then SJ on 9 March now - would be a busy few weeks though!

Will have to figure out how to ride properly in my dressage saddle in time for the next one, i wussed out and went back to my old saddle for yesterday!
