The day finally arrived for the 2'6 ode at Hill Farm Livery and I was c@@pping it! I had no option but to go, it was to be my last event on Black Pudding who is going to a new home this week
. Anyway, things started OK, warmed up quite nicely apart from Sophie taking a dislike to the chestnut pony before me and tried to kill it with every passing in the arena. Went to do my dressage and then suddenly had a mad panic that I couldn't remember the test. This wound me up and consequently sophie just wanted to canter and resited every time I asked her to bring her head down. I just wanted to curl up and die as my test went on but once we started cantering it did improve a bit! Anyway, that done I had plenty of time to wind myself up for my worst bit - the dreaded sj - after my performance at this a couple of weeks back I wasn't looking forward to it but the course was quite nice. I downed 1/4 bottle of rescue remedy and went to warm up with that little chestnut again so warm up abandoned went in the ring, remembered to breathe, kick and steer and once I smiled it wasn't too bad. Hit the first part of the double and had a bit of an argument to the skinny due to me coming in wonky and sophie going well I won't jump it then! 8 faults in all. Downed the rest of the rescue remedy and went and did x-county. Well, I think I have set the record for the most penalties without elimination 120 jumping and god knows how many time faults but I did it in double the time
. Had a bit of a problem with the jumps next to the a40. Sophie spotted a man walking down the dual carriagway and thought that was odd and then decided that all of the jumps were monsters. Few growls later and we kinda got it together for the second half of the course and flew most of it (except for one which she almost fell over due to my indecisiveness on whether to jump the palisade or the zig zag! But I don't care I did it and I got the biggest buzz galloping over the last few and I didn't get eliminated and I didn't come last so thats OK!
