From Megan that is! I got a bit ambitious jumping after a fantastic lesson on Thursday night where we cleared 3 ft (which incidentally was higher than her legs... she really is a stumpy girl).
So, there was a lovely set of low jumps up in the school, and I really wanted to jump the little wall (our first attempt at a filler) on Friday night. We did a couple of crosses, then came to a small cross spread, and got the striding completly wrong and she stopped, put her foot in the middle of it, and I did a lovely somersault and landed on my feet, still holding onto the reins

Thankfully she was wearing boots, which have now got green paint smears on them, and I'm ok, apart from a neck that won't move to the left (physio is booked!)

So, we didn't make it over the wall after all...

I'm going to wait for my next lesson before we attempt anything over 2 ft again

I have done the same thing a few years ago! Pony put in a stop, I flipped over his head and landed on my feet the otherside of the jump with my reins in my hands! I even got a round of applause!

Oh dear, I think we all learn the hard way! I tried to jump a double of barrels once on my horse that jumped everything (or so I thought). I jumped without him on to rather firm ground. I have laernt over the years and now wear my body protector - just in case

Well done on your jumping lesson! And also the circus tricks!! I spent a year with my face in the sand nearly every day with my first horse (3 years ago!) People said " you need 7 falls to be a good rider" well I think I have had 107 at present count!!!
