it felt really good .. i havent jumped for many years , current horse had suspensory problems so decided never to jump her, time goes by and get used to hacking sedatley and recent tendon problem has meant no riding at all for 9 months..

so decided to have lessons to rebuild my confidence, today was my 2nd lesson and did some small jumps, which was both scary but huge fun ...

my daughters horse is very sharp and i would not feel brave enough to ride her at the moment but long term my plan is to be able to. as she will be off to uni next summer. have had a rough few months with horses and just nice to remember it is fun..

My (then) 5yo got me jumping a couple of years back after a 15year gap. I swore I would never do it, lost all confidence! A trotting pole would make me sick. We're now usually top 5 at 3ft 3+. I does help that he is brilliant:D

It is scary though, so well done and keep it up at your pace:D

Well done! I've lost my bottle too over jumps, but it's encouraging to know that it can be done after such a long gap with some determination.

legal dancer . its definatley a confidence thing and as you get older i think it gets harder.

The jumps werent big at all,its just the leaving the ground and all the what ifs.

i did have a bit of a whahooo moment after the first one and jumping on daughters horse would be another matter but am just enjoying having a laugh after months of injured horses and rehab .

Well done you I,m another one who has not jumped for years was never that good. I did one cross pole a couple of weeks ago nearly got jumped off the first time, second time better and quit while ahead after about 3rd go!!
I might add a photo in a min I had a friend photo taking. Did you get any photos?

Well done, must have been an amazing feeling.

You'll be surprised how confident you can feel on your daughters horse. I'm a nervous rider and quite happy on my boy who is very quirky, it took a while to get used to but now I love it. :)

hi. you and me too! I`ve just started jumping again after many many years out of riding. Got back into riding about 3 years ago and now have a "lightfooted" 4 year old trad cob. That first jump the other day was brill.
