Not impressed with my farrier. Was meant to be at my yard at half 7 this morning, so i got to the yard for then, got my horses out of stables and sorted them out ready for farrier. Got to 8 and he was still not there, but sometimes he's a bit late so wasn't too worried. Then about quarter to nine got a text from my friend to say i needed to ring him cos he was stuck at the end of the lane (road is being repaired) and workmen wouldn't let him down. There are diversion signs in place and he failed to follow them. Everyone else coming to the yard managed to follow diversion signs! If he had been at yard at half 7 like he was meant to then he would have been able to get down lane normally!

Finally managed to get hold of him about quarter past nine (1hr3/4's after he was meant to be at yard), he said he sat at end of lane for 20 mins and couldn't get down so he turned round and went home!! Alisha is absolutely desperate for shoes, her feet are really long and shoes very thin. He is now re-booked for monday. Today was already a week after i needed her doing and now she has to wait another 6 days! Not impressed!

Sorry, rant over! Problem is he is a really good farrier when he gets his ar*e into gear and actually comes!

He said he doesn't have my number, which I find very hard to believe seeing as he text me the other day to make sure i was still expecting him this morning!

If you weren't so far from me, I'd say we have the same farrier!

lol! I think they are all like him!! We have farriers who have their forge on the yard but wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, which is a shame as would be so convenient to use them!

I use to use a farrier that would turn up eight or nine hours late or even not at all he was an absolute moron and was suprised when I gave him his marching orders.
It's hell using my current farrier as he is the image of Johnny Wilkinson, rather fit and a very very good farrier, every six weeks, what a swine!!!

Oh no, that is awful. Why did he not ring you?

My farrier sounds like a dream farrier compared to yours!! He rings me the week before Barons feet are due to arrange it. Hes usually early and works weekends at no extra charge!

I dont even have to be there, if I cant make it I just leave money in our 'secret' place and hes all done when I get to the yard in the evening.

Is there still a Farrier in Kent (used to do Tenterden area) called Simon Jones? Now I am going back a few (16) years but he was rather nice, and a good farrier too. Sadly I moved out of the area
