Well yesterday was my 4 year 'owniversary' with my youngster. I've had him since he was 10 months old so it has been hard work but very rewarding! We've done some dressage tests and he's done really well but I only started jumping him in feb this year so a month ago! He's bold though and enjoys it which meant I thought it might be worth taking him out to do a baby 1'6 class. Well today was the day and I didn't realise how nervous I was until I walked the course and even though it was tiny I was worried about how he would react to the wings (we've only got bog standard wooden ones at home) he jumped the warm up jump really nicely but when we went in to do the class he got a bit worried and I had to walk him over one or two of the scary ones as he wouldn't trot over them! Anyway he went clear to get into the jump off and second time round got himself together and jumped well coming 5th! I was really pleased to have survived!!! Was going to leave it there but as the girls who came with me said seen as we'd driven an hour to get there I may as well have a go at 1'9 as not many venues do such small classes and allow adults. So off he went and did a stunning clear - one of only 4 in the class! Did the jump off and came 4th!!! Amazed. Totally amazed at his attitude and boldness. He was fab and had lots of people compliment him. So I think we'll leave the jumping for a month or two now so I don't fry his brain but just had to say that bringing on babies is so rewarding and worth the wait!!!!

There was a pro photographer but I can't post pics. One of the girls took pics on her phone ill have to get her to transfer them but here is the boy the day he arrived.
