Has anyone else had this problem? 3.5 weeks ago she was U/A eventing fit and to be honet quite lazy, being fed 3 scoops Baileys Endurance + oats. For various reasons she had 2 weeks off, then 1 week of walking and just started schooling. Monday night I lunged and she exploded. Last night I lunged for 10mins and then schooled, she was so sharp and tense. Has anyone else had this issue? Do I just get her fit again and hope she calms again or place her on a calmer, to take off the edge. She is fed 1/2 scoop Baileys Endurance and 2 mugs of Bailey Lo cal

I would have thought that with a two week layoff she wouldn't have lost much fitness at all so most likely she's still had plenty of energy and no where to channel it. You've obviously done the right thing by bringing her back into work gradually but I wouldn't worry to much as I'm sure she'll settle better each day as she gets back into a routine and the demands you make of her go up.

Have you any competitions planned soon?

I was considering doing a stressage test on Sunday, however I have seen the weather forecast so I may pass on that as it is on grass. I do have stud holes but being on the longside and tense I am not sure it would be a wise move.

Not sure what is on next Sun though? I may have a dressage lesson or jumping lesson in the week though and see what trainers think?

Is she out? My TB has gone from lazy to sharp over the last few days - think this stormy & then sunny weather has done something to the grass. Either that or it is confirmed to me now that he has a split personality

Maybe she's enjoyed her time off and is just letting you know she doesn't want to work!!!! My horses are a bit "woohoo" at the moment, but it seems to vary from day to day - bloody things! I'm sure she'll settle back to normal when she's back into her routine.
