ok ... soo this is Pops, 9 year old, French trotter. Ive only had him for a week now and I have had some trouble with his canter recently! Ive got him to canter a full lap of a school (at my friends school) once and a few extra odd canters too. He is very unbalance but does try his hardest and does end up on the right leg. I tried cantering him in another school and he just refused to do it and just rushed into a really fast trot. Im now getting an instructor to help me with this and also ive relised that I do need to build the jumps up a bit more in order for him to not think there just trotting poles! :-)
Hes got a loverly temprement and has a stunning trot! he really flicks his legs out and is also very forward, like all french trotters are! :-) I hope when ive got the cantering issue sorted, to be doing some BE! which im very excited about! his owner says he pops 1m20 for fun so he should be able to get my up the ranks and to become known in the horsey world! His main love that ive been told is jumping and also he loves xc! :P im looking forward to progressing and also eventing him as he truly is a very special horsey!

Tashie... You know what I think... He's a dude! Glad you've introduced him to hho, I'm sure you'll be doing loads on him real soon, the competition scene where you are is fantastic, is it axe vale pc for your area? And of course Bictons close, in my day there was a fab xc in Newton
Abbot too, but that's the mare and foal sanctuary now. You have a lovely horse there and you'll do well with him, I'm sure you'll iron out any little glitches. I'm sure I'd you post on here, someone will be able to give you the name of a really good jumping instructor in your area once you've nailed the flatwork. X

Thankyou so much! and also for all your advice! and yes im very lucky to have bicton and pontispool which are very close to me! This horse means the world to me and I am very lucky to have him :-) I never new this site was so amazing! hehe! and thankyou, I shall be using this site more often as ive got some fantastic friendly advice from you and you never get that kinda advice of other websites :-D X

*polishes halo* ;) I love bicton, my first pony was an Exeter chap :D when my youngster is up and running in a couple of years I'll be bringing him down that way for a couple of events. There are a lot of very talented people down your way who will be able to guide you, I'm sure your tack room will have a few rosettes very soon x
