Hey this is my first time posting on here but I could really do with some advice ! I've owned my 5 year old gelding a year now. He has lovely ground manners and although quite green in the school he's a lovely ride and a nice quiet hack . Back in July I started to notice little changes that he was doing , for example I have out with my friend and her mare a lot . He started to whinny to her ok hacks or bite her neck or bum. Out school is placed next to a field with a mixture of geldings and mares and he would call to them. It wasn't much and I could easily get his attention back . But in the last 2 months things have got a lot worse . He's started to push me around a lot on the ground , in the school he has bags of energy and is a massive fizz ball . I was on a hack and a mare he didn't know went past us and he went crazy , bucking and rearing and he tried to mount her! I was so embarrassed . This has happened when I hacked out with my friend and her mare, he kept trying to mount her and we had to go back as he got too dangerous . I had a lesson at my instructors yard and half way through my lesson one of the grooms brought a horse out the field and my horse went mad trying to get to it . In the process bucking me off . Yesterday I was bringing my horse in and my friend was in front with her gelding , and my horse mounted him! People don't want to hack out with us any more . He is literally mounting anything horse he sees . I can't hack him out on our own in case another horse comes past or we see a horse in a field and he goes nuts ! My riding instructor has told me to try global herbs rig calmer ? I really don't know what to do with him as I know what a lovely horse he is! He just seems rather sexually frustrated lol!
