My god how cold is it already!!!

Title says it all really.
Went and turned my mare out about 6.30 and it took me ages to do her rug up where my hands were that cold.
Thought it would be a little bit warmer by now but just got in from taking my little boy to school and my face and hands are stinging where they are so cold

Think I will have to put an extra rug on my poor horsey tonight (that will please the bloody interfering busybody up my yard)

And when I rode last night at 7 the rubber in the school was already frosty!
Time to look like the Michelin man again....

its my first horse caring winter for 15 years and i forgot how horrid it is in winter! got the first 'water down the side of the welly' when doing water buckets earlier and was frozen!
 
Blooming freezing Lol. Had snow yesterday and is clear today. Devil mare is apparently a rug killer

, hope tis a one off :/. Thankfully she isn't clipped and didn't get cold (was just a waterproof sheet in case of more snow).
 
Think sometimes those things say lower when you get in and go up a bit when you get moving.

Mine said -2 this morning, I was freezing at the yard last night had to put my full chaps on I was so cold

lol, but these last 2 days, but toes have been about to drop off!! I had 23 for the farrier yesteday morning and I can honestly say I can't ever remember being so cold! There is no job on God's green earth that can be colder than holding horses for the farrier in winter!!! I've come in for breakfast and I've changed my socks and will wear different boots when I go back - the ones I wore this am are covered in melted frost and are too cold - I'm sure the steel toe cap doesn't help!
 
I do quite like it though. The frost makes everything look pretty and although we are all freezing, this is far better than rain.

It was bitter this morning. Air hurt my lungs.
-7 in my area this morning, and ive just been out to get horse feed and its only 2 degrees now!

FREEZING.

Horses had leg wraps on last night, im so pleased i bought rubber matting, must be so much warmer than traditional concrete!

Due to rain sunday, so will be warming up again.

Horses have nearly grown out their clips already lol
