To put it bluntly, but it does. Currently airing it in garden, but still stinky - presumably from getting hot and sweaty in jump lessons. It's yuck. Am I the only one to suffer from apparent head odour? And, yes, I do shower every day!

Febreeze!!!... you pair of stinkers!!!

My hats always stink - tried the Fabreeze route but it was too late for that sadly deceased hat

Now I just buy a new one every year (cheap and cheerful £40 PAS015 ones) as I hate having stinking hair after riding

I have now bought a vented hat but only wear it for competitions so not sure if it makes any difference or not

Mine isn't too bad at the moment - and TBH honest when it gets that bad I get a new one! I can't stand the stinky hat smell - and it always lingers around your head for ages

Charles Owen make foaming hat cleaner which is quite good and allegedly does not affect the structure of the hat. Also they do a deodoriser but I have never tried this.

Not sure how effective the cleaner is on a really stinky hat but if used just when it first starts to smell it is effective at keeping the smell at bay!

I have a Champion ventair hat and the vents do help keep you cool. Beware of buying cheap hats, your head is too valuable to not look after it. Some of the cheap hats are not up to British safety standards as arent the Beagler hats, would hate to come off and my hat part company with my head, simply not worth the risk!

What is it with crash hats these days.I dont ever remember them being so disgustingly sweaty, 20 years ago. I just stick mine under the tap,it cant get any wetter than after an hours riding.
