Monty was quite head shy when I first bought him last year due to having a mean previous owner but over the weekend he has gone back to it again and I don't know why

Our YO was stood next to his stable last night, she raised her hand quickly and he flew backwards hitting his head on the bar at the top of his door

Then this morning he has had to come in because there is heavy machinery working in his field today and every slight quick movement I made whilst trying winter rugs on he shot backwards

It's horrible watching him as he seems so unsettled

Any ideas anyone?

Do other people handle him? If so its possible someone has just rushed him a bit putting a headcollar on or moving him back to get in the stable. Whenever I've been away my mare is noticably more headshy and jumpy than normal because she can't cope with the yard staff doing things quickly and directly. If its just you handling him, is it possible he's bashed his head on the stable door frame on his own?
