Hi there we had this last week at our yard, but there was four of them, had to move them as didnt want the whole yard getting it.

We just made sure ours were well wrapped up, had plenty of haylage and water and just let them rest.

Took about a week to clear up

I'm not saying anything other than your vet would appear to have given you really good advice. And it's certainly what I do with my horse when ever she's had a cold. Out in the field, head down, nose running, fresh air.

Chill.......

i once bought a cough linctus for one of my horses,it was a thick black anaseed syrup and im sure it eased his raspy cough! think i got it from my local farmway store. i agree that they do need a certain amount of fresh air,i have a cold myself and i keep having a walk it does clear your head a bit, hope your horse son feels better.

PB theres no need to be so defensive. youve put a post up on a public forum people ARE going to comment you may or may not like the opinions given, thats life. Henmen is not saying your vet doesnt know best! chill out and enjoy the forum

How can saying "i'm sure my vet knows best" sound defensive? People get the hump so easily round here.
I'm sure your boy will be fine sweetie!

Never said he didnt did i????

Great way for vet to squeeze more money out of you though, next time you'd probably be better off getting some Benolyn and giving that to him for a few days, costs less than vets and works the same
