I was ill and taken into hospital and my horse was turned out into the field and checked on but left for a fortnight- I brought him back in this week.
I know this is a change and disruption to his routine he was out in the day and in at night previously and is back to that now the last few days.
Apart from the fact he has become ridiculously greasy and hairy and manky he has changed.
He's going nuts in his stable to the point that he cant be rugged (even a summer sheet) its also driving the other liveries slightly demented - in the morning he has thick white sweat lines all over where he's foamed up so much.
When i try to tack up/brush etc he is really bargy and bolshy and has tried to kick me several times.
I used to take his headcoller off and put his bridle on out on the yard and he would stand still now he charges across the yard, if i hold him too close to the headcollar/bit whatever he's wearing his head go's up and he starts backing off- which means i cant brush his head anymore and its hard to do up his noseband etc.
I just dont understand whats wrong- he has had his routine altered before but not become so difficult and pig headed!
He also is playing up a bit about standing at the mounting block (i can usually stand him by anything and leap at him if i want!) but as soon as i'm on he's as good as gold- also a bit unlike him tbh!
Any idea's? Its driving me nuts!
