Has anyone any advice re appetite stimulants please? My cob cross is off work due to a hock injury and has started to lose her appetite in the last week or so. She is turned out and grazing well but has gone completely off her hard feed so I am concerned she is not receiving any vitamins etc at the moment. I have looked at TopSpec Dr Green but wonder if there is anything else out there.

I shouldn't worry about it, just let her graze. Over the years millions of horses have survived on grass alone.

I'd not worry, she's grazing so may not be interested in her feed now.
My pony when out grazing doesn't even lift her head up when we call in for feed time.
Well at mo she does, as in starvation paddock

Ok thank you, I'm just a bit worried because it's so unlike her! Our grass isn't of great quality but I won't worry as long as she is grazing

I wouldn't worry about it, she's out at grass & grazing well, with her not being in work she doesn't really need hard feed anyway. Most of the grazing we have in this country is designed for cattle & is too rich for horses really anyway, scrub grass is better for them. We all know the problems that lush grass can bring on. If she's maintain ing weight then all is ok.
