Hi, my boy has ripped off his front shoe, it's made him quite lame, but you can se the hairs coming out of the sole of the hoof! is that really bad?
The farriers coming tomorrow night, I just hope he can get a shoe back on it as it's ripped quiet far back! how does he do it.

Moomin, I think the 'hairs' or hoof fibres would readily show if a horse ripped his shoe off. Sometimes, in summer when my horse has bad feet, my horse's hoof fibres show even with a shoe on, and when the shoe comes off... well he goes very lame.

Your farrier will be able to work wonders if he is anything like my wonderful farrier, Martin!

My beast ripped shoe off a couple of weeks a go which was put back on the next day, 2 weeks on (yesterday) he has all 4 re-done, I was a bit worried as his feet aint too brill with the changeble weather, bit rough cracks and splinters, farrier sad they will be ok next shoeing, anyway I have put overeach boots on all 4 feet even while in the field to help, hopefully.
