Do i need to do any thing?
I didn't realise she had already been microchipped when i bought her. So had her micro chipped awhile ago. Just looked at her passport and she has a microchip label in her description page!

Competely my fault, but vet didn't check to see if she already had one before placing the second one.

PLEASE IGNORE ITS THE SAME MICROCHIP DOH!

I would ask vet to write down 2 nd chip number and sign it to say you have multiple chips! Let your passport company know too just incase you were ever scanned!

a) Vet SHOULD have scanned her 1st.

b) Would get vet out to scan and check for 2nd chip.................incase 'her' passport isn't hers.

Lol, exactly the kind of thing I would do... And then go change my usernameIn the hope that nobody would remember me! :o

Glad it's all ok though :)

Unfortunately there is no central database for microchips so if your horse is found it is impossible to identify who the owner is. Also there are several different microchip systems so the scaner of one system may not be able to identify the microchip of another system.
You are far better having your horse freezemarked as everyone can read a freezemark.

Lovescobs, glad i made you giggle :), and yes ChristmasChick, it did cross my mind to change my username!

I think it may be time to get some sleep!

Similar thing happened with Ben, I got him at six months, passported and microchipped, with all paperwork, but when vet came six months ago to remove wolf teeth and give tetanus, we scanned as a precaution and couldn't find any chip anywhere... We rechipped as a precaution, rang up and advised the reasons and now he is registered with both mc details just incase.
