in the 7 years ive had fox ive never ever seen him take interest in a mare before.

a new girl has moved into the stable next to him, from what ive heard she was a broodmare. fox met her last night and ive never seen him act like this is my life. he had his willy out! went all veiny, snorting and pawing and squealing at this girl, running round his stable like a loon.

any reason hes doing this? the mare isnt even in season! ive never seen my boy act like this before, hes a bit of a loner!

Reminds me of my old boy... he had a soft spot for a certain lady but anyone else may as well had been a tree.

hehe sorry parachute :D

they are funny arent they tallyho! when she goes out with the rest after quarantine ill be glad he'll have a friend, hes been himself every time ive went to get him in, the rest are all spitting into pairs and trios, hes a wee nigel :(

Thank God I didn't have a cup of tea to hand :D

Ha!!:D:D:D that made me laugh! he might have been gelded late, that sometimes causes geldings to act a bit like stallions. its funny, my dad has a stallion that couldn't care less about mares! when we first tried to get him to cover a mare, he just sniffed he and stood there! thankfully we eventually(took a while )managed to get him to cover a dummy mare so he could breed by AI and ever since, he has bred to real mares fine! though it still takes a bit of encouragement!

Well my previously suspected pansy grew a pair and started fighting with another gelding over an in-season mare . . . willy out, belly slapping - the works. It's just nature.

i dont think so sjp! he used to hand about with an older mare a few years ago but she moved away, wasnt fussed about wither she was there or not though! he's living out with a mixed herd of horses all shapes sizes and ages, not bothered with any of them, its very odd!
