Hi does anyone have advice as to how I can help my horse become a better traveller. He has always been anxious - hates being stabled and will weave if he becomes stressed.
Just lately he has started weaving in the lorry, which is really scary when you are driving down the motorway. I started to cross tie him which helped a bit, but now he is weaving with his bum and still managing to sway the lorry.
I'm thinking of making the area he stands in smaller and putting an anti-weave bar up and then just take him out for short journeys everyday?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Trailer mirror? Friend had to travel a shetland pony as a companion for her bad traveller, then she bought a trailer mirror and he was fine after that.

Have you checked the floor of the lorry, has he good footing? Also do check your driving, have you travelled in the back of a lorry when it is being driven, its quite scarey.
Has he a haynet?

You could also try Rescue Remedy in the water bucket the night before.

Make sure there is not a problem with his feet/legs which would cause him to keep transfering weight. A friend had this with her pony & it turned out to be the start of laminitis & once that was over things returned to normal.
