My horse is getting his winter coat

I noticed the beginnings of a winter coat on Tuesday too!

mine is too! but it is still too hot to rug, very depressing!

mine too! he has faded to brown in the sun but he'll turn black again in a few weeks with his winter coat.

Mine is moulting like mad, her bum is all fluffy and her neck.
She's even getting more feathers now too!!
Time to stock up on clipper oil and get blades all sorted!

Yep Ellie has been getting a fluffy bum for a week or two now but the weather keeps warming up so she starts to shed it again

My horse started getting his coat a month ago. Its the slightly darker nights which are causing it. Its so depressing.

My horse only had his summer coat for about 3 weeks before he started getting his winter one. I wish he would make his mind up LOL

Yep, mine have too - we've hardly had ANY hot weather - as we speak mine are outside in RUGs cos the wind is skipping along at about 30 mph......

I want to live somewhere warm and sunny.....

Both ponies started weeks ago. Well and truly depressing - the next time I ride him he will be fluffy as 'eck.
