My horse is ridden in a grackle and I'm not sure she needs it

Hi, I have recently bought a new horse and she is ridden in a grackle. He old he didint own her for very long and the tack they sold us may not actually be the correct tack for my mare (it does fit). I know it may seem like a silly question but what should i do?

Take it off and try riding her without it....?

You may want to review all the other tack too - does the saddle fit? Is the bit the correct strength (too strong) & does it actually fit.
